The Special Assistant to Governor on Local Media, Emmanuel Sam, has stated that Mr Udom Emmanuel has assigned utmost importance to the future of every Akwa Ibom child.
He disclosed this on Friday in his office during a courtesy call on him by the management and pupils of Handmaid’s Prince of Peace Int’l Montessori School, Uyo.
Mr. Sam thanked the team for the honour done on him, and assured them that he would exercise his primary duty, which according him, is to serve, adding that “Those I was called to serve are the children because they are the future leaders.”
He commended the state Governor for giving him the opportunity to serve the state, saying that through him, he has been honoured by the children, and pledge to work out modalities to interpret the Governor’s vision of ensuring brighter future for the children.
“Governor Emmanuel has ensured that the free and fair education policy is not just being compulsory but improved upon as well as the welfare of the teachers. I will try my best to support and partner with the children, knowing that they can be better and higher than me tomorrow. I see them as children that will make their families and the state proud.”
The Governor’s aide however urged the children to remain focus and humble, as the only way to success is humility.
Leader of the team, Rev. Sister Rosemary Essien, expressed appreciation to the Governor for making the free, fair and compulsory education policy a reality, adding that it has lifted the plights of parents in the state.
She used the occasion to intimate the Governor’s aide the forthcoming Instrumental Display by the Little Hands/Fund Raising and Award Presentation, organised by the management, staff, parents and pupils of the school, which comes up on 11 December, 2019 at the school compound.
