The Chairman of Media and Publicity Subcommittee for the upcoming Akwa Ibom North East (Uyo) Senatorial District Constituency Briefing/Empowerment Programme, Elder Patrick Albert, has called on the people of the Constituency to brace up for what he termed the ‘Mother of All Constituency Briefings’.

He made the remark while addressing newsmen at the Senatorial District office of Senator Bassey Albert at Ewet Housing Estate in Uyo on preparations for the big event which is slated for Friday, April 20th, 2018 at the Uyo Township Stadium,

Elder Patrick who is the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, argued that apart from the lawmaking and oversight functions of a lawmaker, touching the lives of the people through Empowerment is very strategic and is what draws a representative closer to his constituents.

He maintained that, Senator Bassey Albert, is a man that is always in touch with his constituents and reaches out to others across the State.

While commending Senator Bassey  Albert, popularly known as OBA, for his sterling performance in the National Assembly where he represents Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District and as, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Gas, Elder Patrick Albert said, his legendary generosity and his grassroots support base has made him a household name in Akwa Ibom state

According to the Chairman of the Media/Publicity Sub Committee, Senator Bassey Albert is set to deliver what will be an unprecedented Empowerment Programme, with a lot to offer the people of the nine Local Government Areas in the Senatorial District.

On the insinuations that, Senator Bassey Albert is doing the Empowerment because he is seeking a second term in office, Elder Patrick Albert dismissed the charge as false, baseless and unfounded, insisting that, it is purely the business of the party and the electorate to decide who represents them through the party primaries and the general elections come 2019.

Elder Patrick Albert urged all the good people of Uyo Senatorial District to turn out for the Constituency Briefing /Empowerment Programme, so that, they can see and hear the Senator they elected render account of his performance since he assumed office almost three years ago.
