The Councilor representing Ndiya Ward 2 in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Pastor Mrs Anne Abraham, was on Thursday, administered oath of office.

She was sworn-in alongside 10 other councilors of the LGA by the Clerk of Nsit Ubium Legislative Council, Barr. Ekere Ekott, charging them to be proactive the discharge of their duties.

Hon. Anne was announced the Chief Whip of the 7th Nsit Ubium Legislative Council led by Hon. Inyang Sunday Eyo representing Ibiakpan 2, deputized by Japheth Ekwere Tom.

The Councilor who pledge allegiance, devotion and to serve as may be required for the betterment of the people of Ndiya.

Hon. Anne, a reception ceremony at her residence, flagged off a unity football tournament tagged Councilor’s Unity Cup, to foster the peaceful coexistence drive of Governor Udom Emmanuel, and bring togetherness among the four villages of the ward comprising Ikot Ukap, Ikot Akpanofuk, Usung Iyang and Ikot Ewang, irrespective of political affiliation.

She announced that the football tournament will commence Thursday, 17 December, 2020 on a league (home and away) basis, and the grand finale will take place on 1st January, 2021 at the Comprehensive Secondary School, Ndiya where trophies would be presented to the best three teams.

The flag off received huge applauds from prominent Village Heads of the four villages who commended the Councilor for the gesture, noting that it has never happened since the inception of the ward.

All souvenirs were provided for the four teams including the trophies, jersey for the four teams and officials, five footballs, etc as central planning committee for the tournament was inaugurated with Rt. Hon. Abraham Abraham as Chairman.
