NDDC Contractors Petition CCB Over Nsima Ekere’s False Asset Declaration
A group of contractors, under the auspices of Indigenous Contractors of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has called on the Code of Conduct Bureau to investigate the false asset declaration made by the Managing Director of the agency, Nsima Ekere, and prosecute the information in the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
In a petition jointly signed by Mr. Omokiri Tombari and Dr. Biodun Akinfeluwa, Chairman and Secretary respectively, the group stated that Nsima Ekere has contravened the Code of Conduct and Tribunal Act, by not maintaining a high standard of public morality in the conduct of public business in his activities as the Managing Director of NDDC.
The group further stated that Nsima has acquired choice properties including over 23 brand new Toyota Hiace buses valued at N460 million, 4 brand new Toyota Prado Jeeps valued at N40 million each, 3 bulletproof SUV Lexus and Land Cruiser valued at N120 million each in Uyo, Old GRA, Port Harcourt and Maitama, Abuja respectively, acquisitions which are far above his financial remunerations as the Managing Director of NDDC.
Indigenous Contractors of NDDG therefore urged the Bureau to make public the Asset Declaration form filled by Mr. Nsima Ekere as the Managing Director of NDDC, and commence immediate investigation on the above information, and subsequent prosecution in the Code of Conduct Tribunal, in line with the Federal Government Anti-Corruption fight, championed by President Mohammadu Buhari.
The group however gives the Bureau seven days ultimatum to look into the petition after which it shall not hesitate to approach court of law for an order of Mandamus to act on it.
