Nigerian Governors Form Consoles On Building Collapse
Members of the Governors’ Forum led by its Chairman and Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, have visited Akwa Ibom State to commiserate with Governor Udom Emmanuel and people of the state over the tragic incident of a collapsed church building at Reigners Bible Church, Uyo
Alhaji Abdulaziz Abubakar who was accompanied by Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, and his counterpart at Kebbi State, Alhaji Abubakar Bagudu, visited Governor Emmanuel at his country home, Awa Iman in Onna Local Government Area of the state.
In a condolence, the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Yari said that the forum decided to use the occasion of the yuletide season to share in the grief and to console the Governor and the families of the victims of the incident.
He said that the Governors Forum was a family united by love and whatever affect a member affects all.
The forum however expressed joy that Governor Emmanuel was not scathed by the mishap and commended him for coordinating the Rescue operation as well as deployed medical experts to attend to the injured.
He described the loss of lives as a great lost to the country and prayed God to console families whose loved ones were affected.
Governor Udom Emmanuel in his response thanked the forum for their show of love by coming to his country home to identify with him in the moment of grief as well as share in the joy of the Christmas season.
He acknowledged the condolences from President Muhamadu Buhari, fellow Govenors, National and State Assemblies, Judiciary, Religious and Corporate organisations as well as individuals and prayed God to bless them and forestall a repeat of such incident.
