The Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) has declared the Councillorship candidate representing Ndiya Ward 2, Pastor Mrs Anne Abraham, winner in the just conducted Chairmanship and Councillorship elections.
Pastor Anne was declared Councillor-elect for Ndiya Ward 2 by the ward Returning Officer, Mr. Sam Efiok, on Monday after polling a total of 2926 votes.
Mr Sam enjoined the people to cooperate with her and prayed God to grant her a successful tenure as Councilor even as she will move Ndiya Ward 2 to a greater height for the benefit of the people.
Speaking with newsmen briefly after being declared winner, Pastor Anne thanked God for giving her another opportunity in life to serve, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for giving her a platform to fly.
She commended the state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, and the electoral umpire, AKISIEC for a successful conduct of the free, fair and credible Local Government Elections in the state.
The Councillor-elect also applauded the security agencies for ensuring peace and other, the electorates of Ndiya Ward 2 in particular and the state in general, for their peaceful conduct throughout the exercise, and promised to make them proud.
In their separate remarks after the election, party agent for polling unit 001, Mr Emmanuel Uko; Prince Iniobong Ekpo, and Mr Imo Atauyo Akpan, described Pastor Anne as a dynamic, industrious, disciplined, hardworking and someone with good intentions to change the fortune of Ndiya Ward 2 for better, which are some of the many qualities for the unanimous support for her.
They also commended AKISIEC for deploying security apparatus for the conduct of the rancour-free Chairmanship and councillorship elections in the State.
