Four Akwa Ibom groups, including Friends of Udom Emmanuel on Facebook (FOUE), Sisters of Udom Emmanuel (SUE), Rights Impact Volunteers, and the Mandate Preservation Group (MPG), Friday received food items and financial gifts from Governor Udom Emmanuel through his palliative programme,the Divine Mandate Community Service.
Distributing the items in Uyo on behalf of the Governor, his Special Assistant on Research and Documentation, Mr. Essien Ndueso, commended the groups for remaining steadfast in their support to the government of Mr. Udom Emmanuel, saying as foot soldiers, they bravely stood by the Governor, supporting his re-election.
Mr Ndueso said the Governor appreciates their love, loyalty and commitment to the ideals of good governance.
“Governor Emmanuel has shown character and unrivaled sincerity by continuing his charity service to the less privileged.”
The Governor’s aide had listed the many life touching projects crisscrossing the length and breadth of the state, including, roads infrastructure, health care facilities, remodeled schools infrastructure, industries, saying more are on the way.
Mr. Ndueso hinted that the Divine Mandate Community Service would continue to serve as a channel through which the Governor reaches support groups, and communities across the state with palliatives, to cushion the effect of the hardship caused by the pandemic.
Other aides of the Governor including, Mr. Uwemedimo Umanah, Rev’d Richard Peters, Patience Dominic, Joseph Okon and Chris Jerry, who assisted in sharing the palliatives to the beneficiaries also appreciated the groups for believing in Governor Udom Emmanuel and assured of better days ahead.
They urged the beneficiaries to continue supporting the completion agenda of the state government.
Speaking on behalf of beneficiaries, the representatives of Friends of Udom Emmanuel, Mr. Ezekiel Akpakam, Sisters of Udom Emmanuel, Mrs. Ekereobong Ben, Mandate Preservation Group, Joshua Daniel and Paul Akai of Rights Impacts Volunteers, thanked the Governor for appreciating their efforts.
They reassured the Governor of their unwavering support till 2023.
Leaders of the four groups including, Pastor Micheal Joseph Okon (FOUE), Mrs Patience Dominic (SUE), Mr Chris Jerry and others also spoke glowingly on the Governor’s benevolence.
