Akwa Ibom State Government has released the year 2019 Annual Report with Audited Financial Statement.
This is in line with the avowed commitment of Governor Udom Emmanuel to run an open, transparent and prudent administration.
Speaking on the development, the Commissioner for Information, Sir Charles Udoh, said the publication of the audited account of the state government by the Office of the Accountant-General of the State, has once again underscored the openness, transparency, fiscal responsibility and total accountability of Governor Udom Emmanuel in his approach to governance.
According to the State Information helmsman, although the e-format of the publication is available on www.akwaibomstate.gov.ng, the hard-copy has also been produced with the intention of making physical copies available to those who may need it, as well as for the libraries and offices, for research purposes and for posterity.
The Financial Statements prepared in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Finance (Control and Management) Act of 1958 as amended and the Revised Financial Regulations, also complies with the requirements of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
Some highlights of the publication include: statement of assets and liabilities, statement of revenue funds, gross statutory allocation from FAAC, internally generated revenue, capital receipts and capital expenditure by sectors, among others.
