In his determination to shore up investments in the developing Akwa Ibom Aviation industry, Governor Udom Emmanuel is among major aviation stakeholders at the 2020 Global Investment in Aviation Summit held at Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
The Governor is accompanied to the summit by the Chairman of Ibom Airport Development Company Limited Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga, Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, the Commissioner for Special Duties Hon Okpolupm Etteh, the Managing Director/CEO of Ibom Air, Captain Mfon Udom alongside some of his board members and some management personnel of the Victor Attah International Airport.
The state government is scheduled to make its official presentation later on today, during which developments and prospects in its aviation sector will be highlighted before the global aviation audience.
In a telephone conversation with our reporter, the State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon Okpolupm Etteh said the Governor has in the last two days held successful meetings with major investors, with many indicating strong interests in the completion and operations of the state owned aircrafts Maintenance, Repairs and Overhaul facilities, MRO.
Mr Etteh disclosed that Governor Emmanuel on the flanks also held crucial meeting with the Vice President, sub Saharan Africa of the Marriot Group, Ibrahim Barghout, to finalise the commencement of operations at the Four Point By Sheraton Hotel, which has been completed by the Governor, having met it at 64 percent completion.
The Global Aviation Summit aims at enabling Global Aviation Growth through fund raising and key partnerships.
