…Plays Host To ALGON Chairman, Orman Esin, Emem Ibanga, Essien Ndueso, Ors.
It was an electrifying moment at the Christmas Village (Unity Park), Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo on Monday, as social media practitioners in Akwa Ibom State were hosted to an Ibom Christmas Social Media Hangout facilitated by the CEO/Editor-in-chief of Ibomplaza News, Mr. Bassey Samuel Jnr.
Mr. Bassey, a Media and Deputy Chancellor, Forum of Online Media Practitioners (FAOMPRA), while addressing his colleagues, thanked God for the grace in his life which he said has manifested in many ways that words cannot express.
He also congratulated the state Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for the victory at the Supreme Court, thanking him for his love towards the media community and the giant strides so far recorded in his administration.
Ibom Plaza, Bassey is fondly called, further appreciated the media community for their support to him which has seen him grown in style, and pledged to continue to sustain the bond that drives them.
The Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Rt. Hon. Orman Esin, who paid a surprised visit, thanked the online community for their support to him since he assumed office and the commencement of the Christmas festivities in the state, and expressed appreciation to the State Governor for his support which has made this year festivities a success.
“What you’re seeing here today is simply the hand of God and the interpretation of the vision of Governor Udom Emmanuel who has allowed himself to be guided by God.”
He commended past leaders of the state for contributing their quota towards the development of the state, and promised to do even more by December 2020 so that the state will be the hub of tourism attraction across the country.
“Akwa Ibom State is going to be hub of tourism in Nigeria by December 2020 because it is no longer going to be a Christmas village but a Christmas city which he said will cut across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.”
On his part, the state Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and Executive Chairman, Eket Local Government Area, Hon. Frank Archibong, who was ably represented by the Chairman of Nsit Atai, Lady Emem Ibanga, thanked the online practitioners for their support to them and the state at large.
She charged media community to uphold the ethics of constructive criticism and avoid the pull-down syndrome which she said is unhealthy for development.
In his goodwill message, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Documentation, Mr. Essien Ndueso, who described Mr. Bassey as a man with many potentials, commended him for organizing the hangout, and urged the online community to ensure that facts are balanced in the course of their daily reportage to the large public.
Prayers were offered for the development of the state and Nigeria at large.
