This is prior to the sudden developments involving changes in the voting processes in the forthcoming general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Addressing the people who gathered at Mbiaso Ward 4, the former governor thanked them for the positive response despite the short notice, and informed the people that INEC has approved the use of the index finger to vote rather than the thumb.
Nkanga, who is also the Director General of the Divine Mandate Campaign Organisation, charged the people to be strong and stand forth not to be intimidated or deterred by those whose aims are to disrupt the peaceful electoral process.
He pledged commitment to continually bring the right things to the people, protect them and their children never to struggle for crumbs under the tables.
He called on the entire people of Nsit Ibom to give Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other PDP candidates 100% votes denying the APC any vote in the Saturday’s presidential election, saying “It is a privilege for someone to deceive you once but it becomes foolishness if you allow the same person to deceive the second time.
“Our oil and votes have been taken from us and now they want to also take our rights. Lack of justice is responsible for the current underdevelopment in Nigeria.
“It was generally agreed for each senatorial district to go for eight years, but some people are plotting to cheat the Ibibios. We will not fold our arms and watch them take our right.
“We had taken decision to support anyone who would support the restructuring, which is the only solution to Nigeria’s problems, and Atiku Abubakar has agreed on that,” the former military governor stated.
Earlier, Chairman of Mbiaso Ward 4, Elder Emmanuel Eyo, thanked Idongesit Nkanga for marketing Governor Udom Emmanuel, saying that anything he supports always succeeds.
“PDP is a winning team that cannot be defeated. The APC is an epitome of failure. It has never succeeded in anything. Their wickedness has been exposed. The problem of Nigeria needs PDP.”
Former Chairman of the Council, Elder Joshua Eyo Asuquo, said Atiku Abubakar is the only man that knows more about Nigeria because he had been a vice president of this country.
He maintained that the days when kidnapping, assassination and cultism held sway in the state are history now courtesy of the peaceful disposition of the present administration under the able leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Also present at the event were
Councillor representing Mbiaso Ward 4, Hon Odudu Ndem Akang; Vice Chairman, Hon Samuel Nkanga, and Youth caucus chairman, Iya Iwok Iya, among other ward officials.
