Governor Udom Commissions Palm Kernel Oil Plant, Digitalised Hospital As Ukanafun, Oruk Anam Stage Victory Rally

The projects commissioned include the digital and modern hospital with 2019 model facilities equipped in the Ikot Okoro General Hospital, Oruk Anam, and a life-touching project, Palm Kernel Oil Plant at Ufaini Ibom Processing Limited in Ikot Akpankuk, Ukanafun.
The Palm Kernel Oil Plant project was said to have been abandoned by the previous administration of Godswill Akpabio, until the present administration of Mr. Udom Emmanuel came to its rescue.
Addressing the crowd, Governor Emmanuel expressed informed the people that it would have been imperfect if he did not put a complete value chain of a factory for the production of palm kernel as the people of Ukanafun, Oruk Anam, Ika, Etim Ekpo and Essien Udim are known as major palm produce belt in Nigeria.
He assured the people that the factory, which he said is phase 1, will create job opportunities for the youths of the area, and that phase 2 and 3 of the project will commence soon for production of cosmetics, soap and vegetable oil, and would be commissioned later in the year.
The Governor also promised that government will take over some of the affected community schools in Okoiyo by September so that the people can benefit from the free and compulsory education policy of his administration.
He announced that the Akpan Eshiet, one of the major markets in Western Annang, which was ignorantly burnt down by some irate youths, will be rebuilt in order to promote commerce, and sued for the continuity of an enduring peace in the area, adding that contractors have returned to construction sites.
Speaking at the QIC Central School, venue for the campaign rally in Ukanafun, the people thanked the Governor for restoring peace and order in the hitherto war zone, and assured him of victory in the forthcoming elections as 172,000 votes await him come 2nd March.
Former military governor of the state and Director General of Divine Mandate Campaign Organisation, Air Commodore (rtd), Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga, in his remarks, urged the people not to be afraid as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies have been restrained from intimidating supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) know fully well that they can’t win the elections that is why they resort to harassing people in order to scare them away from exercising their electoral rights.
Those who also spoke at the rally include Ukanafun PDP Chapter Chairman, Obong Magnus Akpan; Council Chairman, Rt. Hon Uko Idiong; youth leader, Ndianabasi Nana Udom, and woman leader, Mrs. Iniobong Okonko, thanking Governor Emmanuel for rescuing the youths and women of Ukanafun from the forests where they were chased into by the high level of insecurity in the previous administration.
They thanked Governor for the construction of the Ikot Akpan Afaha – Idung Nneke – Ikot Akpa Idem – Ikot Udombang – Ikot Oku roads and 21 other inter-ministerial projects as well as political inclusiveness of 16 Ukanafun people.
An APC chieftain in the area, Mr. Eshiet Emmanson, who led over 400 supporters into the PDP, poured encomiums on Governor Emmanuel, saying that he led his supporters to join forces with the Governor in continuance support for the assured future of sustainable developments till 2023.
He added that Governor Emmanuel speaks more with actions by delivering people-centric democratic governance to Akwa Ibom State, and particularly thanked the Governor for restoring peace in Ukanafun, saying “No man can challenge the success of your reelection bid.
The Divine Mandate campaign train moved to Oruk Anam where the Governor was received by a mammoth crowd.
