Governor Emmanuel’s Developmental Paradigm Is Devoid Of Political, Ethnic Lines
Governor Udom Emmanuel is developing the State economy to give every Akwa Ibom child an opportunity to excel in any chosen field, sector or facet of life irrespective of political, ethnic or religious background and clinging.
The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Charles Udoh, made this known while addressing a crowd of independent electorate at the “Ibom Investment Summit and Ubok Utom Udom Exposition 2018”, organized by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Entrepreneurial Development in collaboration with the Bureau of Technical Matters and Due Process held at Barth Ebong Auditorium, University of Uyo Town Campus, Uyo.
Charles Udoh said, to this end, Governor Udom Emmanuel has attracted over 10 industries to the state to stimulate the economy and open up opportunities for those aspiring to grow in entrepreneurial sector while also developing the Sports sector for those interested in building a career in Athletics and Football to become the Ronaldo and Messi of the world from Akwa Ibom State.
He maintained that, every sector of the economy has received a boost to put Akwa Ibom child on a sound pedestal to compete favourably with their counterparts anywhere in Nigeria and even globally reiterating that, no Akwa Ibom child can be intimidated again in any field of endeavor with the mounting re-orientation for Akwa Ibom people from the “Dakadda”, “Rise to the Faith of Greatness philosophy” of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The Commissioner emphasized that, the Free and Compulsory Education policy of Government which encompasses the annual payment of over N600 million WAEC Fees for indigenes of the state is to ensure that, every Akwa Ibom child irrespective of parental and social background, gains the basic education that can open doors of self-development for the child, adding that, the government also ensures the healthy living of the child from conception to age 5 with the free healthcare services for pregnant women, children 0–5 years and the aged.
He decried the situation where well placed individuals in the society who rather than join hands with Governor Emmanuel to develop the state tend to confuse and derail the youthful populace from benefitting from the humungous opportunities derivable from the industries created by government with blackmails and campaigns of calumny and urged the youths not to allow selfish politicians to destroy their destiny and future.
The Information Boss said, as a sincere and committed leader, Governor Udom Emmanuel has ensured that the industries in the state are built strictly as business enterprises in line with international best practices and not as extended arms of government for sustainability emphasizing that, all the industries set up now in the state will out-live the present administration.
He said why all the companies built by past administrations died was because they were operated as parastatals of government adding that all that government does now is to provide the enabling environment for investors to open and run their businesses and listed the components of enabling environment to include: land, good network of roads, security, power, water supply and friendly ambiance among others.
Udoh congratulated the organizers of the Summit for marketing the potentials of the state and strides of the Governor and lauded the enterprising spirit of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Entrepreneurial development, Mr. Ime Uwa for his accomplishments in the sector, urging Akwa Ibom youths aspiring into business to emulate his thriving business spirit.
The Summit which had as its theme- “Come, Listen, Learn and witness addresses by different groups including past Councilors’ Forum, which commended Governor Udom Emmanuel on the payment of their severance allowance and a handshake with the Information Boss by the top ten finalists of the Ubok Utom Udom contest 2018.
