The people of Eastern Nsit Ward 9 of Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, on Saturday played host to their House member, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Mark Esset, to celebrate his victory at the just concluded primary elections.
The facilitator of the meeting and Ward Chairman, Mr Samuel Johnny, noted that the meeting was aimed at thanking the House member for heeding the call of the people to continue representing the constituency at the State Assembly and the state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, come 2019 and beyond.
Hon. Esset, who won the nomination for the state House Assembly primaries, expressed appreciation to the people for standing by him throughout the period of the party’s internal politics, and pledged to improve on his effective representation of his people in the 7th Assembly.
He thanked the Governor and the leadership of the party for allowing the wishes of the people to prevail, promising to double his efforts to deliver all PDP candidates from the Presidency down.
The meeting also witnessed defections by some All Progressives Congress (APC) members to PDP family.
Also in attendance were Mr. Chrysantus Okon, Obong Cyril Ibanga and Mr. Emmanuel Okono, Chapter Chairman, Deputy Chapter Chairman, and Treasurer respectively, and the former Vice Chairman of Nsit Atai and board member of APICO.
Others include Ward Councillors led by Hon. Emmanuel Davies of Ward 9; Ward chairmen, executive council members as well as youths, women and elders.
