2019: Sam Ikon Steps Down For Onofiok Luke
The supremacy loggerhead ahead of 2019 Etinan Federal Constituency seat between Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sam Ikon, and the Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Barr) Onofiok Luke, has been laid to rest, with the former ceding his second term ambition to the latter.
This is to bring peace, equity, justice and fairness which the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) preaches and stands for, hence Elder Ikon honourably stepped down for Hon. Luke in respect of the laid down zoning arrangement of the District.
Elder Ikon, in his remarks recently sued for peace in some areas of contention, and called on people to make sacrifices in the peace and interest of the Party by respecting the zoning arrangement, adding that PDP is of a higher interest over individual’s interest.
The former Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly noted that for PDP to succeed in the upcoming 2019 polls, it was imperative that stakeholders of the Party express selflessness in their decisions and be very ready to make sacrifices even of such puts them in an awkward position as long as it defines success for the Party.
