The Accountant General of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Uwem Andrew-Essien, has declared that there is no vacancy at the Hilltop Mansion till 2023.
Pastor Andrew-Essien stated this on Monday, during the inuaguration of Onna chapter of Voice of the Electorates (VOTE) and mini rally in support of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s second term bid at Abat, Onna Local Government Headquarters.
The Accountant General who is also the Director General of VOTE said as the number eight signifies new beginning, recent event in the State marks a new dawn in the Socio-political and all spheres of the State’s economy.
While assuring the people of the State of resounding victory at the coming elections, the Accountant General enjoined all electorates to ensure they stay back to protect votes cast at the polls.
The International president of Voice of the Electorates, Prince Ekere Isemin, while addressing the gathering shorty after inaugurating the Onna chapter of the Organization said he was happy that VOTE which started as the biblical mustard seed as at today can boost of its chapters within. and outside the shores of Nigeria.
Prince Isemin called on Onna sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora to mob up support for Governor Udom Emmanuel’s re- election in view of his unparalleled record of achievements in the last three years of his stewardship.
The Chairman of Onna Local Government Area, Mr. Imo Atat, said he was happy to belong to VOTE, noting that the Organization apart from being disciplined, is well organised and lauded the Director General on his foresight at floating the group, describing the Accountant General as a generous individual.
In his goodwill message, the chief Adviser of Voice of the Electorates, Chief Sunny Udom praised the group, the people of Onna and the entire State on the giant strides taken towards ensuring the re- election of the State Governor.
Chief Udom advocated the naming of the Ibom International airport after the second civilian Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Arc. Obong Victor Attah as a mark of appreciation of his sacrifices towards the uplift of the State during his tenure.
In their goodwill messages, the Permanent Secretary, State Universal Basic Education Board, ( SUBEB) Elder Ezekiel Umoh and his Bureau of Political/ Legislative Affairs and Water Resources counterpart, Elder Nse Edem threw their weight behind VOTE and Governor Udom Emmanuel, challenging the people of Akwa Ibom State to rise and take their place in destiny.
In his acceptance speech, the Onna Chapter Chairman, Mr. Uwem Enyene promised to carry all his members along in order to move the Organization forward as well as deliver on its mandate.
