10,000 Entertainers Set To March For Udom
Entertainers in Akwa Ibom State have concluded plans for 10,000-man march in solidarity for the state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel.
This was disclosed by the Special Assistant to the Governor Udom on Entertainment Industry, Mr David Sargent popularly known as Utang Akwa Ibom, in his office shortly after a meeting with the Akwa Ibom State Entertainment Working Committee (EWC).
He said the solidarity march tagged “Entertainers Show Your PVC March” is planned following the support entertainers in the state have enjoyed under the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The march, which is a follow up to the membership validation exercise conducted by Utang Akwa Ibom to create a database for the industry, will feature stakeholders and practitioners, both gospel and secular musicians, dancers, comedians, actors, directors, entertainment journalists, artiste managers, marketers, show promoters, DJs, as well as pageantry Kings & Queens.
According to the Secretary of the EWC, Comedian Sirjames Essien, the entertainers will march in their numbers waving their PVC to reassure the Governor of their support during the forthcoming general election in 2019.
The meeting had in attendance top entertainers in the state, other issues relating to sectors in the industry were discussed and the house resolved to unity as a prerequisite to building a formidable entertainment industry in the state.
The date for the march would be communicated on later.
