Akwa Ibom State Government has burst a syndicate allegedly specialized in issuing fake Appointment Letters on behalf of Secondary Education Board and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

Disclosing this in a press statement, Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Education, Prof Victor Inoka, said a member of the syndicate, Mr. Okon Amah, admitted that huge sums of money had been collected from unsuspecting job seekers in the State.

On the identity of the suspected syndicate member, the Commissioner said Mr. Amah, under interrogation, claimed to be a staff of SUBEB as a teacher at St. Patrick’s Primary School, Idu in Uruan Local Government Area, and hailed from two local government areas of Uyo and Onna.

Prof. Inoka who said the suspect had been handed over to the police, advised desperate job-seeking members of the public to be wary of dealing with such syndicate as his Ministry or any of its departments and boards will only recruit through the Civil Service Commission, the only body empowered to carry out such exercise.
