Reggae Icon, Ras Kimono Dies At 60
The Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) has announced the death of legendary Nigerian reggae artist, Ukeleke Onwubuya, popularly called Ras Kimono.
COSON made the announcement on its Instagram page the passing on of the African and great musician, the reggae toaster, the great Ras Kimono Onwubuya.
The Delta state-born singer died on Sunday 10th June at the Lagoon Hospital in Lagos State where was rushed to after complaining of feeling funny last night.
He was said to have concluded plans to travel to the U.S. before is sudden death.
Kimono’s debut album ”Under Pressure” led by he and his band group Dread Reggae Band in 1989 was a massive hit with the single “Rum-Bar Stylée”.
He died at age 60.
