I’m Poised To Ensure That Eket Is 100% For Udom Come 2019 –Sam Edoho
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management, Mr. Sam Edoho, has reinstated his commitment to ensuring that Governor Udom Emmanuel has the total support and votes of Eket people in 2019 polls.
The Governor’s Aide made his position known to newsmen recently in Eket after a two day sensitization campaign that he organized to sensitize motorcyclists across Eket on the importance of Permanent Voters Card plus the various benefits the Eket people have derived from Gov. Emmanuel’s administration.
Mr. Edoho, who described the transporters as one of the most vital service providers in any developed or developing economy, seized the occasion to explain to the participants on the importance of the PVC as the easiest legal means of identification to acquire in Nigeria, and a symbol of political potency.
“As you can see, I came to Eket today to personally sensitize and enlighten my friends (motorcyclist) here on the importance of this PVC that some people are taking for granted. If you look deeply, you will discover that beyond voting, PVC is the easiest means of Identity to acquire in Nigeria, and I believe most of the cyclists may not have other means of identification including Driving licenses, International Passport or National ID card.
PVC is the only one out of the rest that is taken to wards and units for registration.
“Secondly, Eket people are in my opinion the highest beneficiaries of the present administration. If you look around you will identify either a road leading to Eket or out of Eket and other people-centered project like the rebuilding of the stadium or the ultra-modern market under construction and so on, and I believe that is the reason most Eket people are die-hard followers of Governor Emmanuel. But this followership, love and support will amount to very low turnover if people from a sector as vital as transporters, are not armed with their voters’ card, and are well sensitized on what they have gained from this administration, and stand to gain beyond 2019.
“This is the reason I chose to sensitize the ‘okada’ people”
Edoho, a branding and marketing expert asserted that the cyclists are mostly vibrant youths who have close contacts with a lot of passengers on a daily basis, hence they will also spread the knowledge gathered from the campaign.
The campaign witnessed an explosive turnout of thousands of bikers as the transporters were supported with petrol to fuel their motorbikes each day of the campaign.
