The 4 Pillars Of Dakkada Philosophy –Sam Edoho

In time past, at the mention of any Akwa Ibom son and daughter, what would cross the mind is house girl (Ekaette) gateman (Akpan), and were taken as never-do-well set of people in the society. The state was known for producing ‘best’ house boys and girls, probably because of the honest nature of the people, an abused noble trait, and the people taken as those born to serve others.
Today, the story is different as the house girls and house boys have risen to their faith of greatness, courtesy of the Dakkada philosophy, which has changed the ball game, and those who went to other states, particularly Lagos to serve, have returned home, and Chinese firms coming into the state to invest.
The Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management (Dakkada), headed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Mr Sam Edoho, speaking on the topic “Creativity and the Dakkada Philosophy” on Tuesday during a live radio programme, stated that the Dakkada philosophy promotes four major pillars.
He gave the four major pillars encapsulated in the Dakkada Creed initiated and written by the state Governor, Mr Udom Emmauel, to include Hard Work, Entrepreneurship, Excellence and Integrity.
Explaining that hard work has to do with great deal of effort or endurance, Mr Sam Edoho noted that Entrepreneurship is the process of designing, launching and running a new business, while Excellence is a talent or quality which is unusually good and surpasses ordinary standards, resulting to Integrity as the qualification of being honest and having strong moral principles, or moral uprightness.
Speaking further, he said Governor Emmanuel who was recently honoured with Integrity Award, which is one of the four pillars that Dakkada promotes, is leading and working the talk that is why things are branding and rebranding in the state.
According to Mr Edoho, Akwa Ibom State is ranked second in attracting foreign investment into Nigeria for the benefit of Nigerians at large and Akwa Ibom people in particular, which are indications that Akwa Ibom State under the leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel, is on the right path.
“You may quarrel with human being but not with the path-changing and path-breaking innovations and achievements the person has brought. You can argue the process but you cannot dispute the result,” he concluded.
With him was an Advertising and Communications expert, Hon. Udeme Ufot, who described Gov Emmanuel as the Chief Marketing Officer of the state who he said is doing a fantastic job.
Udeme Ufot is the Group Managing Director of SO&U Limited, one of Nigeria’s most influential advertising agencies, affiliated to Saatchi & Saatchi, a global advertising agency.
He is famous in the advertising agency for that popular Guinness TV commercial “My friend Udeme is a great man”.
