Gov Emmanuel Takes Akwa Ibom To An Easter Evening Of Hymns

The Akwa Ibom State Government House Banquet Hall was, on Friday, filled to its capacity for an Easter Evening of Hymns with the theme “Why Good Friday?”
Governor Udom Emmanuel led lead a crop of government officials and Christians who are singing and worshipping God for the gift of Christ to mankind.
He too the Bible Reading while Rev. Friday Umoren of the Quo Iboe Church delivered the Word.
Hymns were rendered by College of Commissioners; College of Permanent Secretaries led by Dr Gloria Edet (When I Survey The Wondrous Cross). The song, Oh Perfect Life of Love, was taken by the Legislative Arm of Government led by the Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Barr) Onofiok Luke, while “Crucified Upon the Tree” was taken by Akwa Ibom State Judiciary Council.
Local Government Chairman were not left out including official of the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) joined by the Governor and Wife to render the Efik version of “O Come and Mourn With Me A While” as conducted by the State PDP Chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo. The College of Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and Personal Assistants sang the song “The Old Rugged Cross” which was led by the Dean of Governor’s Aides, Elder Uffot Ebong.
Also ministering in songs were the Government House Divine Voices, Promised Land Chorale, and Schubert Chorale, Abuja.
Governor Emmanuel, in his remarks, expressed great joy over the wonderful performances from all the choirs and groups. He prayed that none would be like Judas who never had peace since he betrayed Jesus.
The State Governor noted that without the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, there would not have been Christianity.
