Rain Storm Wrecks Havoc In Nsit Atai Communities
…Lawmaker Intervenes, Calls On Appropriate Agencies To Come To The Aid Of The Victims

At least nine (9) communities in Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State are counting their losses occasioned by a heavy storm that wrecked havoc which led to many high tension poles falling on properties of the inhabitants of the area.
The rain storm which started at about 12:30am Tuesday, lasted for about 4 hours and the resultant effect was the loss of amenities and properties worth millions of naira.
While making an on-the-spot assessment of the affected communities, the member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Mark Esset, who was visibly sober, shared in the pains of the victims.
The Lawmaker, accompanied by the Transition Chairman of the Area, Otuekong Uduak Ekpeowo, assured the affected natives of the communities of the State Government’s intervention to the matter.
He called on the affected persons to remain calm pending the State Government proactive steps to ameliorate their losses.
Natives of the communities of Ibakang, Okoro Atai, Okoro Nsit, Ndisiak, Ikot Obon, Uyenghe, Ikot Ekpot, Adia, Ikot Ntuen led by their Village Heads and the Youth Leaders decried the losses they have incurred due to the heavy storm, and called on the State Government to come to their aid as some of them are rendered homeless.
Elder Mark Esset has called on the relevant authorities including the Akwa Ibom State Emergency Management Agency to come to the rescue of the affected people of his constituency.
No life was lost in the incident.
