By Umoh-Obong Kingsley |
It is no longer news that the member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly (AKHA), Rt Hon Elder Mark Esset, will lay a mark of effective representation to the good people of Nsit Atai LGA during his constituency briefing and empowerment programme.
It is evidently clear that Rt Hon Elder Mark Esset’s vision to launch Nsit Atai LGA in the rare space of the big league of modernization, industrialization and wealth creation is cast in concrete.
During the event scheduled for Wednesday, 28 March 2018, tagged “Let The Good Work Continue”, elders, women and youths across the ten political wards in the area will be empowered with mouthwatering items.
Developmental strides recorded in Nsit Atai and its environs in the recent times are indicators that the LG is in celebration gear.
Empowerment is an everyday stride for Rt Hon Elder Mark Esset as he needs no special time for it, but for the purposes of emphasis and reference, a special occasion for it is needed.
According to the lawmaker, empowerment has been an intrinsic part of his leadership strides at any level as he does it at personal capacity to individuals within and outside his constituency, which in most times, through humane disposition, need not be made public but somehow strays to the public domain.
It is worthy of note that while Hon Mark Esset served as an Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, he empowered his people which has never happened in the history of Nsit Atai.
Part of his achievements in the 6th Assembly are the over 17 Bills he co-sponsored as well as three motions he sponsored including a Motion on stopping the abuse of traditional injunctions by village heads; a motion on the need to recognize Ibedu, Essien Itiaba, Ibia Ikot, and Ndisiak Clans of Nsit Atai Local Government Area by the State Government; and a motion on the outbreak of herbivorous and crop disease in Akwa Ibom State.
On project execution, Hon Mark has facilitated the renovation of the Classroom Block at Essien Itiaba Community Secondary School, Ikot Asua; renovation of a Classroom Block at Government School, Okoro Atai and Construction of the Asan Ibiaikot (Civic Center), Idiaba.
Others include renovation of a Classroom Block at QIC Central School, Iwoke and construction of Primary School, Ikot Ubok Udom and Community Secondary School, Ikot Akpan Ike.
He has bought over 100 JAMB Forms and organized JAMB preparatory classes to indigenes of the area, and is currently partnering First Love Foundation Clinic, Aka Road and Nsikak-Abasi Clinic, off Ukana Offot Street, Uyo, for medical retainership where his constituents are given free medical attention.
The general public us hereby invited for constituency briefing and empowerment programme which promises to be one of its kind.
