Reigners Church Building Collapse: Gov Emmanuel Set To Implement Report
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has set in motion necessary machinery to implement the recommendations on Reigners Church building collapse, after detailed review of the Commission of Enquiry’s report.
Accordingly, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Uwemedimoh Nwoko, has been mandated to commence the process of taking appropriate actions against all persons found culpable in the church building collapse.
This was contained in a Press Release issued by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh, and made available to newsmen.
In the release, all cases of proven professional negligence will be dealt with decisively within the ambit of the law while all verified outstanding bills for treatment of victims in the various hospitals in Uyo have been fully paid up by the State Government.
It stated that, the Government of Akwa Ibom State wishes to place on record its profound appreciation for the support, understanding and patience demonstrated by the bereaved families, injured persons and the public during the period of investigation and extends its gratitude to the various hospitals and clinics in Uyo that attended to victims promptly.
While reiterating its avowed commitment to the protection of lives and properties, the State government once again commiserates with families of the victims of the Reigners Church building collapse and prays the Almighty God to comfort them.
