Mark Esset: Truly Making Marks For Nsit Atai People
…Calls For Protection Of The Project And Support For The Governor’s Re-election.
The Honorable Member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House Of Assembly (AKHA), Hon. Mark Esset, on Thursday, attended to yet another Government’s project in his constituency.
Mr. Esset who is highly spirited and passionate in attracting projects and facilitating same in his constituency, was physically elated as he witnessed his brainchild project officially flagged-off by the State Governor, represented by the Permanent Secretary Bureau of Political, Legislative Affairs and Water Resources; Otuekong Nse Edem and officials of the Niger Delta Support Programme (NDSP) and her Technical Assistance Team (TAT) led by Mr. Albert Achten.
It could be recalled that the lawmaker who served as Council Chairman, contested and made bids and presentations for the project to come to Nsit Atai among other Council Chairmen in the state, and got the nod alongside his Obot Akara counterpart as the winners of the phase 3 project.
His transition from office as Council Chairman to the House of Assembly notwithstanding, Hon. Esset went ahead to pay for the counterpart funding which ran into millions of naira for the communities so that the project would be fully executed in the area.
According to the NDSP Masterplan, the water project will cut across five (5) small towns which comprises 25 communities in the following order:
IBAKANG – Ibakang, Unyehe and Ikot Nkpene
ODOT II – Odot II, Ikot Inyang, Ikot Nyoho Edor
NDA NSIT – Ikot Abiyan, Nda Nsit
IKOT AKPANIKE – Ikot Akpanike, Ikot Edebe
IKOT ITIE UDUNG – Ikot Itie Using, Ikot Obong, Idikpa Ikot Ntuen, Ikot Asia, Ikot Akpabio.
The lawmaker thanked the EU- NDSP3 for staying true to their mandate,while urging the benefitting communities to protect jealously the water facilities and other Government project sited around them.
Mr. Esset however advised the benefitting communities to ensure the smooth return of His Excellency, the Governor, come 2019, as he will stand with the Governor to serve Nsit Atai better, beyond 2019 – A statement which attracted cheers, claps and drumbeats in support of the Governor and the House member.
Other speakers at the event were the Chairlady of the LG, Miss. Emem Emmanuel Ibanga, the representative of the Governor, Otuekong Nse Edem, the leader of the technical assistance team, Mr. Albert Achten, and the Village head of Odot 2, among others.
