Bayelsa State Honours Akwa Ibom Info Boss
Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Charles Udoh, has received a royal staff of Honour from the Palace of His Royal Majesty, King Agara O. Mozi (JP), the Kala-Okun III of Kolokuma Kingdom of Bayelsa State.
The staff of honour was presented on Friday to the Commissioner in his office by the crowned Prince of His Royal Majesty, Prince (Engr) Austin Agara of Kolokuma Kingdom.
Receiving the royal gift, the Information Boss who said the staff of honour came as a pleasant surprise, expressed appreciation to King Agara O. Mozi, for the honour done him and pledged to hold on to those tenets and principles that endeared him to His Royal Majesty.
Recounting his encounter with King Agara O. Mozi (JP), the Commissioner who said he met the monarch just once with barely a good remembrance of his appearance, explained that the King was in the state as one of the official guests during the 30th anniversary of Akwa Ibom State and had a need he attended to as a mere routine part of his daily dealings.
He said it was a surprise that the monarch took his simple task as very important, leading to the sending of the royal gift to him months after the deed was done and said he was not only humbled by the level of appreciation expressed by King Mozi but has henceforth accepted to take the king as his father.
Udoh used the occasion to implore youths to imbibe the spirit of respect to elders and instituted authorities, as they can never know from which good act they will receive appreciation and reward as was his case with the staff of honour from far away Bayelsa State.
The Crowned Prince, Engr. Austine Agara who brought the royal staff and a letter from the Palace of His Royal Majesty said, his father, King Agara O. Mozi (JP) has never one day ceased to extol the qualities of the Information Commissioner as well as pray for success in all his endeavours.
He said the King was particularly impressed with the humble mien, performing spirit and hospitable disposition of the Commissioner as exhibited in the urgent tackling of the matter then and therefore presented the royal staff of honour as a mark of appreciation and reward.
It can be recalled that the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Charles Udoh has at various times been described as a humble jolly good fellow with pragmatic approach to the management of his portfolio with a friendly and generous disposition towards the work of God and humanity.
