A’Ibom Syringe Factory Opens Vacancies For Indigenes
The first ever made in Akwa Ibom syringe, the best in the African continent, will roll out next month, February 2018.
This was disclosed early today at ONNA when the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Charles Udoh, led a cross section of the media community operating in the state on a project tour of the Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing (JSM) Company, the largest syringe factory in Africa.
Mr Udoh who was elated at the progress of work at the factory, especially with the trade mark, “Made in ONNA, Akwa Ibom” on the syringes, displayed the products to the media and expressed the hope that, the nay Sayers and cynics will bury their prejudices and embrace the developmental drive of the Udom Emmanuel-led government.
He said Governor Emmanuel will continue to provide the enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the state, and enlisted such facilities put in place by government to attract investment to include, Power, with the construction of power sub-stations in Uyo, the state capital and its environ, water, good roads network, good hotel accommodation, security as well as friendly and peaceful environment.
The Information Boss extolled Governor Emmanuel as a man of integrity, transparency and prudence, reiterating that, it would not have been possible to attract a high flying factory with such magnitude of investment to Akwa Ibom State if the investors had no trust and confidence in the integrity of the Governor.
He used the avenue to call on Akwa Ibom people especially the unemployed and youths to take advantage of the opportunities available at the syringe factory to better their lots in the areas of distributorship and even supplies as all raw materials used by the syringe factory are locally sourced.
“The syringe factory, the biggest in Africa, was attracted to the state by Governor Emmanuel as part of measures to fulfil his five-point agency especially in the areas of Job Creation, Wealth Creation and Poverty Alleviation. With the factory fully alive, it will go a long way to boost the industrialization-drive of the Udom Emmanuel-led administration”, the Information Commissioner emphasised.
The Chairman of Jubilee Syringe Factory, Emir Kayalioglo, and the Managing Director, Zubeyir Gulabi, who took the Information Commissioner, Charles Udoh and his team on site tour of the factory, said the products of Jubilee Syringe are the best in terms of quality and safety as was discovered during the last Trade Fair held by Syringe and Needle Association and allied matters in Germany.
The duo said the factory which has capacity for expansion for more workers was commissioned by the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo on September, 2017 and produces One Million Syringes per day in the average with just 5 Expatriates working in the factory and the remaining staff about 70 all Nigerians with Akwa Ibom indigenes in the majority.
To ensure standard and professionalism, workers of the establishment are regularly sent on training in Turkey while also partnering several other European countries on technical grounds and for marketing processes.
It could be recalled that, on assumption of office, Governor Udom Emmanuel has promised to catapult Akwa Ibom from a Civil Service oriented state to a Private sector-driven economy, the Jubilee Syringe factory with its success story is a clear manifestation of the commitment of Governor Udom Emmanuel in this direction.
