By Umoh-Obong Kingsley
Constituents of Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State are in high spirits to deliver the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship and vice candidates in forthcoming Local Government elections billed for Saturday, 2nd December, 2017.
They expressed their readiness on Sunday when the Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Media, Amb. Uko Umoh, visited the three zones (Zone A-C) in Northern Iman Ward 2, to redeem his promises to the people during the Councillorship election which produced Abasianwam Udofa as the flag bearer.
Over 500 pieces of wrappers and cash sum of money were donated to the women and youths of Northern Iman Ward 2 by the Governor’s Aide who thanked them for their support for the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration.
While addressing the constituents, Amb. Uko Umoh urged them to come out en masse Saturday to vote for Hon. Cletus Ekpo as Chairman and Mrs Imaobong Collins as Vice Chairman under the aegis of PDP.
He noted that Northern Iman should be the first constituents to deliver 100% votes to Gov Emmanuel because the first project he executed in his first 100 days in office was the resuscitation of the Peacock Paints Industry situated in the area.
Amb. Uko Umoh further assured the people that Gov Emmanuel is committed to improving the wellbeing of the people through his industrialisation drive, and that his focus is to bring government closer to the people.
In the entourage were Hon. Donald Uko; Hon. Kufre Ikono; former Secretary of Etinan Local Government Council, Hon. Udeme Udo; and several others.
