Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Saturday in Uyo, vowed to do all within their power, including military and federal might to cripple the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and take the center stage in the forthcoming local government elections in Akwa Ibom State.

The party leaders who spoke during the local government campaigns flag-off held in the Uyo Township Stadium, said it saw no reason it cannot take advantage of its political powers to forcefully capture power come December 2, 2017.

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, in his speech, declared that APC will use national power to win the election by force, saying “We shall show PDP in Akwa Ibom something. We will take it by force.”

Also speaking, the Managing Director of the Oil and Gas Free Zone (OGFZ), Obong Umana Okon Umana, and his counterpart in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr Nsima Ekere, stated that with APC at the centre, there is no cause for fear as they will make sure they win the poll by all means.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matter (Senate), Sen. Ita Enang, confirmed the plan to use presidential power to rig the election come December 2nd.

Speaking, Chief John Oyegun, who arrived late, thanked the MD of NDDC, Mr. Nsima Ekere, for effectively mobilizing people to come out for the ceremony and said the party cannot afford to lose Akwa Ibom State again, and must do all it can to capture the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo did not make it to the rally, and no reason was given for their absence.

However, it could be recalled that the event earlier billed to hold on Tuesday, was postponed to Saturday, specifically for the purpose of having the Prof Osinbajo physically present.
