The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Social Reorientation, Mr Imoh Emeh, has donated uniforms and writing materials to pupils of Qua Iboe Church (QIC) Primary School, Obot Idim, Nkek Abak in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The gesture, according to him, was as a memorial and fulfilment of his promise during the funeral of his wife, late Mrs Uduak Imoh Emeh, on 29 September this year.
Mr Imoh noted that his late wife was a Teacher by profession and lover of children who invested immensely in education and child welfare, therefore, on her demise, the children came up with the idea to provide new uniforms to the school pupils.
“Today is a day to share working in an already planned formula. It is a day for the presentation of school uniforms to the pupils of Qua Iboe Church (QIC) Primary School, Obot Idim, Nkek Abak, in line with my promise during the burial ceremony of my wife, late Mrs Uduak Imoh Emeh on 29 September, 2017.
“She was a teacher by profession, and loved children. Therefore, in a memorial of her, we decided to continue in what she loved doing while alive. She was very passionate about the welfare of the children. That was why three of my children decided to do this as a memorial of their mother.”
The Governor’s Aide, who revealed that he was a student of the school before he was taken to the township to further his education, expressed appreciation to the management for taking good care of the school, and for maintaining peace within the community.
He urged people of the community to continue to support the government of Akwa Ibom State under the leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel, saying that it is a government of peace. “As a peaceful leader, wherever he (Governor Emmanuel) is, there is always peace.”
Mr Imoh thanked all politicians in ward 5 which, according to him, is exceptional of all the wards in Ukanafun. “There is orderliness, love, peace and harmony. Continue in that manner.”
He noted that government of Mr Udom Emmanuel is beneficial to ward 5 than every other ward in Ukanafun in terms of appointment. “This is the first government to have Senior Special Assistant, Special Assistant to the Governor, Member of Technical Committee on Ibom Deep Seaport, Supervisor in Local Government Council, Youth Caucus Chairman for Ukanafun LGA, as well as a Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) from ward 5. Let’s join hands to the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led government come 2019 and beyond for more good things to come to Ukanafun.”
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Matters and Due Process, Engr. Ufot Ebong, who led the entourage, noted that late Mrs Uduak Imoh Emeh laid down a great legacy through her huge investment in education, which is in line with the free and compulsory education agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
He noted that among the pupils, there is a governor. He donated five cartons of Akwa Ibom Employment and Enterprise Scheme (AKEES) Pencils to the pupils and cash sum of money to Chapter PDP.
The Special Assistants to the Governor on Project Monitoring and that of Traders Matter, Udeme Afia and Idorenyin Raphael, donated 1000 customised exercise books to the pupils and N20,000 cash sum to the Youth Caucus, respectively.
Also speaking at the event, Chapter PDP Chairman, said there is no other party in Ukanafun Ward 5, as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the only available party, and pledged their continued support to deliver 100% vote to Governor Udom Emmanuel come 2019 for second term in office.
He described the Mr Udom Emmanuel as the best Governor so far because he has delivered his promise to bring government closer to the grassroots.
In her letter of appreciation, the Head Teacher of QIC Primary School, Mrs Grace Aniefiok Udotong, thanked Mr Imoh Emeh and family for the kind gesture as a support to the ongoing free and compulsory education in the state in order to achieve quality education.
Apart from the pupils, Mr Imoh also donated wrappers to all the teachers of the school, even as the pupils thrilled the Governor’s Aides and participants of the event during performances and Dakkada Creed recitation.
