#AiteoCup: Ibom Angels Chairman Assures Of Victory
The Chairman of Ibom Angels Football Club, Mr. Moses Nana, is optimistic of his team wining today’s game against Rivers Angels in the Aiteo cup final.
Mr. Nana made this known in an interview when he watched the girls having their light warm up yesterday at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, venue for the encounter, as the match is expected to kick off by 4pm.
According to him, provisions have been made for fans of the team to storm Jos, the capital of Plateau State from Akwa Ibom, in large numbers in order to give the girls maximum support.
“I will use this opportunity to commend the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, for the support he has given the team right from the beginning of the season.
“I’ll personally described him as a miraculous Governor ever for being the brain behind the qualification of the Super Eagles to Russia 2018 World Cup tournament, winning the male Federation Cup by Akwa United, now known as Aiteo Cup in the space of two years, and his passion for grassroots sports development, which has resulted in the state emerging second in the overall final medals table in the just concluded national youth games in Ilorin, Kwara State.
“Not forgetting the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Sir Monday Uko, who has been able to interpret the dreams and visions of the Governor into reality, as well as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports, Elder Paul Bassey, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Aniedi Dickson, for their support to the team”.
Ibom Angels have played a total of four matches before reaching the final of this competition scoring a total of six goals and conceded three.
Their game with Rivers Angels this evening will make it three times this year, as they played a one all draw in Uyo, and goalless draw in Port Harcourt, during the just concluded Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).
