Not less than 90 orange men have stormed the city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital capital, ahead of the much anticipated #OrangeSeptember carnival to usher in the 30th anniversary celebration of state creation
They were received by the Honorable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Rt. Hon. Victor Antai, on Monday.
The Orange mantra indicates optimistic, sociable, hospitable, adventurous and industrious which are some of the qualities every Akwa Ibom person has.
Events have been lined up to kick-start the 30th year of State Creation. The events are:
Orange Festival at the Ibom Unity Park, Udo-Udoma Avenue, with take-off point at University of Uyo Mini-Stadium by 10am on Saturday, 16 September, 2017
Dise – A pictral Exhibition: Ibibio Union Museum, Udo Udoma Road, Uyo on Monday, 18 September by 10am
Ndidia Nyin – A tasty display of Akwa Ibom cuisines: Ibom Unity Park, Udo Udoma Road, on Tuesday, 19 September by 10am.
Orange Music Fiesta – Sounds and Rhythms of Akwa Ibom featuring Tekno, Timaya, Flavour, MC Galaxy, Ikpa Udo, Sugar BOI, Mista Xto, Fadabasi, Pasto Goody Goody, Nathaniel Bassey, Sir Wilker, etc. at Ibom Hall Grounds, IBB Way, Uyo on Wednesday, 20 September, by 5pm.
Styles of Akwa Ibom – the splendour of fabrics and fashion featuring 1 Run Way, 15 Designers, 40 models at Ibom Hall, IBB Way, on Thursday, 21 September by 6pm
Ndoko Akwa Ibom (Miss Akwa Ibom Pageant 2017) where the winner will go home with a Brand new car. The event billed to hold on Friday, 22 September at Ibom Hall by 6pm
