Osinbajo To Commission 3 Projects In Akwa Ibom
As parts of activities to mark the 30th anniversary celebration of Akwa Ibom State, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is expected to commission three projects in the state.
The projects are the Jubilee Syringe Factory which has 400,000,000 a year production capacity; the Electric Metering Company and the newly rehabilitated and refurnished General Hospital in Etinan which will be inaugurated on September 23.
Addressing newsmen in his office, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh, said the state at 30, had more than enough reasons to celebrate and appreciate God.
Mr Udoh who outlined several activities billed to light up the state, said several culture-oriented programmes are being packaged to thrill the people of the state for a period of two weeks.
The programmes schedule released by the commissioner are cultural carnival, Golf Tournament, pictorial/photography exhibition, essay and quiz competition, food festival, business forum, music fiesta and novelty football match between the state enlarge executive council and the state House of Assembly members.
Other activities billed for the period, include the Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path-Initiative (FEYReP), a pet programme of wife of the State Governor, Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel, which marks her second anniversary on 21 September; small/medium/micro scale enterprise clinic, Miss Akwa Ibom pageantry, as well as an anniversary Fashion Expo/Comedy/ballad Challenge.
The Commissioner who re-iterated the readiness of the state to receive the blessings that come from the significant 30 years of its existence, said that there shall be a special thanksgiving service to mark the 30th anniversary of the state’s creation before the swearing-in of the new chairman of state’s Council of Chiefs.
He enjoined all to come out and support the state by effectively projecting the activities of the anniversary, as well as the investment opportunities that abound.
Orange is associated with meanings of joy, warmth, enthusiasm, creativity, success, encouragement, determination, health, stimulation, happiness, fun, enjoyment, balance, freedom, expression, and fascination.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr Victor Antai, said the Orange colour was the official colour of the state since creation.
He said the use of the colour concept in its media campaign was a way of telling the world the Akwa Ibom story.
“We are very hospitable, industrious, friendly, enthusiastic, creative and joyful. It is what the orange colour stands for,” Antai added.
