How Gov Emmanuel Predicted Victory For Eagles At State Prayers
Governor Udom Emmanuel’s prophesy of a landslide victory for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their crunch World Cup qualifier encounter against the Cameroonian Indomitable Lions, Friday came to past as the Eagles walloped their opponents by 4 unreplied goals.
Governor Emmanuel made the prediction at a one day Prayer Fast meeting to mark the commencement of the State’s 30th Anniversary celebration on Friday September 1, 2017 at Government House Banquet Hall .
Governor Emmanuel had prayed to God for an overwhelming victory for the Nigeria national team, saying that it was not a mere coincidence that the match coincided with the fasting which marks the 30th anniversary of the state.
“The last time I joined my faith with a Minister of God to pray for the Super Eagles, we won. Today I join my faith with that of Rev Paul Enenche who ministered here, and other fathers and grandfathers of faith here present to pray for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.”
Mr Emmanuel said, “against Cameroon on a day we fasted and prayed to God, I believe our team will win with at least 2 -3 goals margin. I invite all of us who are here who can make it to the stadium, to come and watch the match free. I must be seen to be patriotic in national issues”
He led the entire Akwa Ibom to pray for the peace, togetherness, progress, protection and prosperity of Akwa Ibom State as it clocked 30.
Reminding the worshipers of the significance of the state’s 30th anniversary, he said 30 years is a period of impact and manifestation of God’s love. He said the state at 30 was ready to take the lead as a bright star that will shine for the entire country.
“let me tell us something here, with what we have done today, there is a no more room for negative impact in Akwa Ibom State.”
Condemning incessant sponsored campaigns of calumny against his administration, the Governor warned “Let those who are out for mischief, let those who are out to do things that do not glorify God be mindful because there is no more room for negative impact in the state.”
The governor rallied the Christian community to continually pray for the sustenance of the state and advised against mischief and blackmail against the state government.
They governor sounded a note of advice to people who believe in attaining power through mischief, saying, “if you carry out mischief and perpetrate something. The bible says for those who honour me, I will honour, for those who despise me shall be lowly esteemed. Let people be aware of this, those who despise God’s enthronement, those who despise God’s authority: oh I pity you.”
He used the occasion to offer some bags of Garri from the state cassava processing plants as the first fruits from the state garri project scheme, and launched same into the market.
“One of the things I promised is to make food available for Akwa Ibom people. We said that we will try and bring down the cost of garri for Akwa Ibom people. We are planting everywhere. This is the first batch of the Dakkada Garri we are producing.
As we do this today, in line with this prayer conference may this make abundance of food in our state in Jesus Name,” he said.
The governor who was accompanied by wife, Martha Emmanuel, deputy, Moses Ekpo, Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Onofiok Luke and Chief Judge, Godwin Abraham, among other dignitaries joined faith with the clergy and Christian community to pray for Akwa Ibom state.
Speaking at the occasion, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Rev Dr Paul Enenche who spoke from Isaiah 60:1 noted that every nation or state needs the light of God in all spheres of her endeavour.
Speaking on the significance of 30, Enenche encouraged Akwa Ibom people that at 30, positive great manifestations is by the corner, and Akwa Ibom will take the centre stage in the nation and in the world.
He further spoke on the importance of sacrifice and giving, saying “those who live beyond themselves: they live beyond their time. If they live beyond themselves, by the time they have gone they refuse to die.”
This according to him was, because the mark they made speaks after their demise, adding that those who live for themselves live within their time and are never remembered.
