#AkwaIbomAt30: Let The Drums Roll
“Arise Oh Akwa Ibomites and shine for thy light has come…” (Isa. 60:11)
Away from all the grieving distractions of those who do not wish us well. Anybody who keeps attacking you and sees nothing good in all your effort and strategy to make things work is certainly bewitched from what only heaven will ascertain a cure/healing for his/her plaguing frustration, envy, short-sightedness and never-see-good in others disposition. To me, it all boils down to a hindering complex. If you realise that someone else is far off better than you are, me think the only way out is to boost up, poise and determine to do better than what you’ve done. First appreciate, thank God and possibly encourage such a person(s) to sail higher and higher. The blessings in return for wishing some other person well is bountiful in fold. There is certainly no competition in life in who is more successful than the other. Easy does it and that has been my own philosophy, conviction and belief.
Who God has blessed, no man can curse unless that feat attained is purchased from hell. God stands supreme in all what man ventures into. He is the beginning and knows the end point. So why bother spewing thrash, hate blabs, character assassination, pull-him-down at all cost antics and spreading falsehood on others?
No one absolutely possesses the sole monopoly of propaganda. Let us all understand when to walk and when to run. There is a season, reason and happenstance for everything. Rejoice and applaud the era of someone else’s reign and get determined in supplication for yours will come. One caution, if you keep destroying to aspire, it’s simple you can’t attain what you never wished others well.
Vintage #AkwaIbomAt30… There has been this splash on the internet trending like wildfire. I pondered and questioned in amazement, I have been an Orange freak but this Orange splash everywhere keeps coming with a palatable appeal of an entirely rare specie.
First, it was Cavil Uduak Inwang, an online blogger who added a splash of it on my photograph followed by Asteroid Bassey who did same. Ignorance of the trend, I questioned jokingly, “Did you guys obtain permission from me before splashing this unripe Orange on me?” Thrilling though the whole affair has gone after realising everyone is Orange glued now.
A one-day prayer and fasting has been declared by Governor Udom Emmanuel to hold on Friday, 1st September, 2017. This brings to bear the utmost significance of this year’s celebration.
The one day fast is to herald the 30th Anniversary to be observed by all indigenes of the state irrespective of Christian denomination, an opportunity to afford all Akwa Ibomites to seek the face of God and open doors for God’s blessings for the state at 30.
The number 30 is significant that heaven was opened for Jesus at the age of 30 to save mankind while God’s hand came upon Ezekiel at the age of 30. Other young men in the Bible who became leaders on reaching the age of thirty include David who became the King over Israel and Joseph who became Prime Minister of Egypt despite the oppression of the Israelites by the Egyptians.
So to us, this year’s celebration and the rolling out of drums is not just limited to a funfair, jamboree or carnival. Most importantly is Gov Udom Emmanuel’s continued manifestation that indeed his emerging platform was woven around the Divine Mandate. There are leaders who may not see beyond their nostrils details, essence and krox of events in history beyond mere celebration.
The Governor indeed looks far deep and proffers the reason and significance of celebrating #AkwaIbomAt30 and the aforementioned remains the hallmark of our celebration. This is one out of numerous advantage of having a credible, intelligent, knowledgeable, prudent, selfless, future-inclined leader in the shape and mould of Udom Emmanuel. He mounted the saddle of leadership at the right time to expand the developmental sphere of our enviable state.
This is a clear indication that those who are fighting to hack him down are embarking on an already lost battle.
As we countdown to September 23rd, 2017, which is the D-Day, let it be sounded deep that this year’s celebration @ 30 is a divine one designed, crafted and conceived to take Akwa Ibom to the next level. We henceforth will lead and others tow behind us.
And I share overwhelmingly with the trending Orange September. Orange being the official colour of Akwa Ibom state, is adorning everywhere. We are indeed optimistic, sociable, hospitable, adventurous and industrious. #AmazingAkwaIbom, #UdomEmmanuel and a superlative flavour garnished by #OrangeSeptember.
Needless do we go on enumerating the strides, achievements and hallmark of the Udom Emmanuel-led administration which is rather obvious with the growth, expansion and developmental projects dotting the state landscape across the three Senatorial Districts.
One thing that we all should be armed with is that the Governor in all sincerity of purposeful leadership mounted the prime position coming with a lofty five (5) point agenda of driving the engine of statehood with industrialisation at the topmost gains.
It’s #OrangeSeptember… Celebrating who we are. Quite significant at 30
