CRUISE MISSILE! Ita Enang: The Misfortune Of A Presidential Me-guard
“A woman who allows people to taste her food before buying ends up feeding the whole market without selling a plate…”
Weeks back, Senator Ita Enang, on a radio interview, called for a protest on the proposed new Akwa Ibom State lodge in Lagos. And to me, stupidity is when their likes who jet in and out of the state, not minding the recession packaged and produced by their failed and woeful APC marabouts. Ita Enang and his co-travellers won’t see no need to urgently aid the dwindling fortunes of the economy back to vibrancy the way they met it.
He is trying too hard to be useless! Protest against the renovation of Akwa Ibom lodge in Lagos while your principal is absent for 90 days plus.
It is with much sympathy, clear conscience and a punch of advice that I write to reach out to a man whose fortune rose to the peak of God alone knows where He was advancing him to and like a sudden explosion of a balloon blown and deflated by a curious kid…Booom! It’s gradually going off. The bottom line is selfishness, greed and the quest to always be the only one to pilot every affair.
Aside his professional field as a lawyer in which I believe he has/had hardly practiced due to his early involvement in partisan politics, Ita Enang indeed grew politically in the ranks and file of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). It was on the platform of the party that he became a Chairman of council. A three time member of the House of Representatives, the third outing he ‘stole’ the slot that was not his, a senator of the Federal Republic and in between these positions savoured, ate and leaked his fingers satisfactorily. He ate the PDP dish to the fullest.
Most often as in his habit, eats up a full dish without remembering those surrounding his dining table. If you doubt, show me a lady nor a gentleman whether in Ita’s village or clan that can convincingly boast of being raised up by this man who has traversed the corridors of power to almost a greater part of his public service and involvement in partisan politics. Those who know the ingredient, dynamics and benefits accruing due to full participation in politics can testify what it means to be a beneficiary if someone you align with sincerely wishes to let you have a great chunk of the pie. It is the most rewarding version of the murky game in Nigerian parlance.
Ita sure for this long we’ve known him, is not a politician in such a charitable mould. His approach to politics no matter the height he has reached leaves him with no option, knowledge, desire and self pity to allow even the crumbs trickle down the ladder. This habit sure pulls down numerous politicians no matter the height they have reached in the game. The act of giving in politics is absolutely sacrosanct and even if you don’t or refuse to have it, playing along should spice up the act if you seriously wish to land well.
Ita Enang sure has not shown any iota of gratefulness towards a party platform he sailed onboard for ‘donkey’ years now. He left and jumped off board just because he lost his second term bid to the Senate in 2015 and like a man who suddenly ejaculates, looks at the woman he was sleeping with scornfully. And deep is the affliction of a woman treated with scorn.
This may not be far from his travails, disappointment, rough operations and unsailed ideas as a presidential liaison to the red chambers who has been meeting brick walls in all assignments since assumption of duties as an errand boy.
From the most controversial budget padding that almost claimed his head, intriguing politics of the presidency and most clampdown on his duties by the Daura Clan led by Chief of Staff, Abah Kari, and most recently his unsuccessful liaison with the Senate to clear and confirm Ibrahim Magu – Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Custom’s boss uniform saga. Ita sure is losing the grip and definitely the presidency is not finding all this acts of meeting strong opposition barriers funny.
His recent adventures and previous assignment as a Senate liaison has been meeting a hard rock, all those he laid to the red chambers end up in controversy. They are always coming out disappointed. He led Buhari to submit the 2017 Budget and it was declared missing and later got padded. Amaechi’s first outing as a Ministerial nominee got an initial boot of rejection before finally sailing through out of pity. His confirmation was delayed.
He led Ibrahim Magu the EFCC Caesar, a few weeks back for his confirmation and he was denied confirmation due to questionable character, integrity daint and meddling in corrupt deals. And lastly led Hamed Ali, the controversial Custom’s boss who has refused to wear his uniform for reasons best known to him alone because I can’t figure out why it is so.
Ita sure needs to go highly spiritual. All is not well.
His recent outburst and sponsoring of the baby lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, with a whooping N20 million to protest against the rehabilitation of the Akwa Ibom lodge in Lagos, leaves one to ponder whether Ita really has a direction. He is running from pillar to post.
In no distant future, Ita may likely sponsor a legion of soothsayers in search of his missing master for 90 days plus.
