Blame Nsima Ekere For APC’s Woes –Ex lawmaker
A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Edwin Joseph, has blamed the current woes of the party on the unbecoming attitude of the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Obong Nsima Ekere.
Following Wednesday’s defection of a former Commissioner of Science and Technology in State, Hon. Samuel Effanga, and over 200 others, from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the former Uyo representative in the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly said Nsima Ekere’s impunity and greed was tearing the party apart.
Hon. Joseph was furious that the leadership of party is quiet while Nsima Ekere constitutes a problem that is capable of destroying the party, adding that more people will leave the party if the situation is not urgently and properly addressed.
He further disclosed that since Mr. Ekere was tipped to fly the party’s governorship flag in 2019, he has brought impunity, intolerance and discord to the party, pointing out that the party needs to reconsider its position ahead of 2019.
“Look, all is not well with the APC because of Nsima Ekere. Since his appointment as MD of NDDC and this 2019 governorship ambition, the man stared behaving like he party owns the party. I am saying it loud and clear that Nsima Ekere is responsible for the problems in APC.”
Hon. Joseph described the defection of Samuel Effanga and over 200 people from the party as a serious blow that can cripple the party, adding the party left the defectors with no choice and that more defection will hit the party if nothing is done curtail Nsima Ekere’s impunity.
