Udom Emmanuel: Walking Up A Bushtrack, Escorted By A Lion
…PUTTING GRACE AND FAITH TO WORK
By Umoh-Obong Kingsley
It is neither the law of religion nor the principles of morality that define our highways and pathways to God; only by the Grace of God are we led and drawn to God. It is His grace that conquers a multitude of flaws, and in that grace, there is only favour. Favour is never achieved, but received.
God’s grace first saves and then trains His people for godliness and good works. But most times, people fail to know what it portrays for someone to work or operate under grace. They try to tamper on someone who might be operating under grace, thereby incurring the wrath of God.
What does it mean for someone to be operating under grace? When one operates under grace, no one can kill the person. When one is operating under grace, no one can kill the person’s dream. When you are operating under grace, you will shine. When you are operating under grace, promotion is certain. When someone operates under grace, he/she gets to the top, and cannot be put down.
His Excellency, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, could be described as a man walking up a bush track while being escorted by a lion, therefore needs not be afraid of a bull. The happenings around him in the state, which appear bigger than him, indicate that grace is at work. Even in the face of meagre resources in the country, the same grace that brought him to the seat of power, has seen him through to managing the state that the impact of the harsh economic is not felt in the state.
The convergence of the entire people of Akwa Ibom State during the reception of the Governor by the Ibibio Nation at the sacred arena of the Ibibios, the Asan Ibibio, on Monday, 10 July, 2017, which witnessed an unexplainable crowd, an event which turned to a festival of endorsements for his outstanding agricultural revolutionary programmes in the state, indicated that grace has taken over.
It is now dawn on the critics of the state government under the leadership of Governor Emmanuel, particularly the All Progressive Congress (APC), that one can actually be chased to his point of breakthrough. The work of grace has made it the turn of the Governor that the critics can no longer describe his life’s turnaround – the more they tried to pull the Governor down, the stronger he gets every passing day.
It is grace that makes the head stone of one’s life to emerge (Zech. 4:7). Grace is the colour and glory of destiny. Grace is flowing in the finished works of Christ. When grace takes over a man’s life, his efforts are turned into effect. Grace is divine take over.
Repentance was never yet produced in any man’s heart apart from the grace of God. Soon, the leopards in the camp of the APC will regret the blood with which its fangs are moistened, the lion of the wood has abjured his cruel tyranny over the feeble beasts of the plain, just as the critics are beginning to sheathe their swords.
The critics and the entire APC folks should note that when you don’t see a man’s struggle, yet you cannot deny his result, then grace is at work!
With the faith that He that promised is faithful, Governor Udom Emmanuel is in no way, abusing the grace given him to serve the masses. He has put both grace and faith to work with his numerous empowerment programmes, industrialisation drives, security, healthcare, good road networks, sustainable development, payment of workers’ salaries as at when due, free and compulsory education, payment of WAEC fees to pupils, free medical services for children and the aged.
The same grace has brought about the Akwa Ibom Enterprise and Employment Scheme (AKEES) where thousands of indigenes of the state have been gainfully employed; Syringe factory which is the best in Africa; Coconut Refinery; Pencil and Toothpick factory; Akwa Prime Hatchery, and over 1700km road projects executed by the Governor under two years of his administration.
May grace keep working for you always!
