Truth Be Told, Gov Emmanuel Has Performed Well –Melaye
A member of the 8th National Assembly representing Kogi West under the umbrella body of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Dino Melaye, was on Thursday, forced to tell the bitter truth about Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, for his excellent performance in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the APC caucus in the Senate at the Constituency Briefing and empowerment programme of the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, held at the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium on Thursday, he said “I rather say the truth and die.
“I went round the state yesterday (Wednesday) and I asked civil servants all over, ‘una don collect alert for June?’ And they all said ‘yes we have been paid’. And I started crying for my own state, Kogi. I said, so your Governor does not owe.
“In fact, God bless you round about. We in Kogi who are owed 13 months salaries, need anointing from you. Hunger has no political party, unemployment has no political party.”
The fearless senator also commended Senator Akpabio for setting the pace in effective representation.
“The truth is that Senator Akpabio is doing well and it is also a fundamental truth that the Governor of Akwa Ibom is doing well.”
“I am very happy to be in Akwa Ibom State and on behalf of the APC caucus in the Senate, we are here to appreciate one single Nigerian with multiple competences, highly intellectually sagacious, politically great, Senator Godswill Akpabio .
“Akpabio good teaching, good product, wetin good no get another name, na good them dey call am.”
Sen. Melaye described Akpabio as “a Legislator per Excellence,” adding that, “We have seen the gigantic projects embarked upon by his Government and we can see the continuation by the current Governor.”
He said irrespective of party affiliation, the APC caucus in the Senate was strongly in support of Governor Emmanuel and Senator Akpabio, and urged the people of Akwa Ibom to support the duo.
“We are asking that you continue to support him, we know that God is already supporting him, because the Governor is doing well, because Akpabio has done well and is still doing well,” he added.
