Gov Udom, Saraki, Ekweremandu, Ors For Akpabio’s Constituency Briefing
All is set for the constituency briefing and empowerment programme by the Senate Minority Leader and immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator (Dr) Godswill Akpabio, as he presents a midterm report of his representation in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to constituents on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium, by 9.00am prompt.
The Chairman of Media and Publicity sub-committee for the event, Elder Aniekan Umanah, in a press release, described the briefing as “the mother of all briefings and the first ever in this magnitude by a Senator in the State since the coming of democracy” as it would feature the empowerment of constituents from all units, villages, wards and clans in the Senatorial District, while the presentation of his stewardship report at the red chambers of will set a new narrative for the development of the district.
The release further stated that the Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, shall serve as Chief Host, while the Senate President, His Excellency, Senator (Dr) Bukola Saraki, is billed as Special Guest of honour at the event, which is to be chaired by the Deputy Governor Mr. Moses Ekpo.
Meanwhile the release states that the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee Sir Emem Akpabio and other members of the team at the central and local government levels have worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth outing.
The epochal briefing will play host to other prominent Nigerians, according to the planning committee as part of the Senate Minority Leader’s commitment to institutionalizing people oriented representation, and will feature presentation of scholarships and bursary grants to about 250 indigent students selected through a rigorous aptitude process; business and transportation support; handing-over of empowerment items to over 2500 constituents from all areas of socioeconomic endeavours.
Accordingly, all political leaders, party stalwarts, stakeholders, royal fathers, the clergy, youths, women and the general public are invited to the historic constituency briefing and empowerment programme by Akpabio, the progenitor of uncommon transformation.
