Senate Orders Bafil Out Of Premises
For the second time in two weeks, the leadership of the Senate on Tuesday, ordered Mr. Bassey Etim (@BasseyE) to stop his incessant visits to the National Assembly and await the judgement of the Supreme Court on the case pending between him and the Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA).
Mr Etim who stormed the premises of the National Assembly to be sworn-in, left in tears as the leadership of the Senate warned him to stop his incessant visits to the office of the Senate President.
Also the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, emphatically told Bafil as Bassey Etim is fondly called, to go and wait for the judgement of the Supreme Court on the pre-election case pending between him and Senator Albert.
Senator Akpabio said Mr. Etim is criminally minded and should therefore not contemplate a repeat of what he did to Hon. Emmanuel Obot when he manipulated the court process to hijack the mandate freely given by the people of Uyo Federal Constituency to the later.
Senator Akpabio vowed that as long as he is the Senate Minority Leader, Mr. Etim will not be allowed to steal Senator Bassey Albert’s mandate.
An eye witness in the Senate President’s office confirmed that Mr. Etim left the premises of the National Assembly in tears after he was given the marching orders by the Senate leadership.
