A’Ibom First Lady Charges Christians On Thanksgiving

Akwa Ibom State Governor’s wife, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, has admonished Christians to always be thankful to God for His faithfulness and Grace towards them irrespective of their status in life.
She gave the admonition on Sunday during the family thanksgiving service of Pastor and (Prof.) Mrs. Emmanuel Bassey at the Redeemed Christian God of Church (RCCG), Abundance Mega Parish, Four Lanes, Uyo.
Mrs. Emmanuel said as Christians, it is necessary to live a life of gratitude and thanksgiving to God, stating that it is only when we acknowledge God’s benevolence towards us that He will do more.
“As born-again Christians, when we give thanks to God for His benevolence, more blessings are allotted to us. Thanksgiving opens up the heavens for more blessings.”
The wife of the State Chief Executive Officer noted that thanksgiving is a requirement from God to move Christians higher in life, and encouraged Christians to always view life as the best gift from God while trusting him for more blessings.
In his homily, the Guest Minister, Rev Dr. Uma Ukpai admonished Christians to always be appreciative of God’s benevolence on them.
The Cleric, taking his message from Psalms 103:1-5, and preaching on the theme “The Benefits of Thanksgiving”, emphasized that gratitude to God provokes Him for more blessings and as well urged the congregation not to live a life of ingratitude.
In their thanksgiving, the celebrants, Pastor Emmanuel and Prof. (Mrs.) Margaret Bassey, returned all praises and thanks to God for being a promise keeper in their career and life.
Professor ( Mrs.) Emmanuel Bassey specifically thanked God for their all-round promotion in life, and specially expressed gratitude to Him for their twenty-five years of marriage, successful retirement of her husband after thirty-five years in civil service, as well as her promotion into the office of professorship.
