IBB Lauds Gov Emmanuel Over Industrialisation Drive Of A’Ibom
By Umoh-Obong Kingsley
Nigeria’s former Military President who granted the agitation for the creation of the present Akwa Ibom State out of the old Cross River State after many years of struggles, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB), has commended the state Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for his industrialisation drive of the state.
The former Head of State, in a telephone chat after his return from a medical trip abroad, expressed shock at the developmental strides of the young state, which he said was competing favourably with most major states in the country even though he has not been to the state after its creation 29 years ago.
IBB called on all stakeholders in the state to rise up to the challenge of ensuring that the state remains one of the major industrial and agricultural destination and hub in the country.
Maradona, as he is fondly called in his hay days in the military, enjoined residents of the state to remain focused and shun every act that might cause regrets in the decision to have created the state.
