A South Africa-based Nigerian gospel artiste, Rev. (Mrs) Ethel Odungide, has commended the achievement of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, within his one year administration.
The ever-young and dynamic Akwa Ibom-born gospel act, during a chat with wetinhappen.com.ng after her performance at The Brook Church, Calabar, said that Governor Udom is God-sent to Akwa Ibom people.
According to her, “I can’t see why God takes a man from one extreme space to another extreme space. Governor Udom’s dreams will unfold. Though I’ve not gone round all the local government areas of the state, but I’ve read his manifesto.
“I’ve gone through the things he wants and I can say he is doing great! A one-year old baby is just learning to work, so we need to pray for him. We need to support him. We need to raise alters of worship around the state. We need to hold the spiritual atmosphere because it is not easy to be on that seat.
“Governor Udom has good intentions but without our support and prayers for him, he can seat there and not achieve anything till he lives the office.”
Rev. Ethel further stated that she was heart-leaped the day the Governor made a declaration at the stadium that Akwa Ibom belongs to the Lord.
“All the way from Atlanta, I was saying ‘Amen!’ when I heard his declaration. I was saying ‘so shall it be, Oh God unto us!” We’ll just watch and see what God will do with him, we need to constantly pray for him and allow God manifest in him,” she added.
Rev. Ethel Odungide is also a minister of the word who started as a professional singer and later joined Dr. Uma Ukpai’s ministry as a choirmistress. She is a graduate of English.
