Call For Probe On A’Ibom PDP Yoth Leader: Inibehe Umah Unblemished
A recent media sponsored attack on the person of the National President of UDOM IS RIGHT ORGANIZATION- Hon. Inibehe Umah by a bunch of grievous, mischievous and non-existing faceless persons designed, crafted and sponsored by the sacked National Secretary of the organization, Titus John, in a recent newspaper publication by a local tabloid, The Guide Newspaper (Weekend edition) of Monday May 9, 2016, page 14, aimed at smearing, character assassination and cheap blackmail that holds no water is hereby countered by the originators of the organization.
In their emotion-laden communiqué which copy was handed this medium, all the chapter Coordinators of the group disassociated themselves from the publication and went ahead to reveal that the sacked secretary was using fake names to prove his case. They also wondered what on earth should propel a man like him to ignore the penalty of imposition in his blind quest to muddling an innocent man.
“We have decided to issue this communiqué to put the record straight and also dislodge the wicked antics of the sacked secretary of this organization who maliciously sponsored some wicked and ill-fated writ-ups in some newspapers over the weekend to smear the good character of our amiable National President, Hon. Inibehe Umah”
“Ordinarily, we would not have considered issuing this communiqué or joining issues with him because, according to our understanding of who he is, both in his community and outside, he is a man of questionable and controversial lifestyle, who can take up any task for a plate of ogidi. But in our bid to put the record straight, we have resolved to issue this communiqué in order to educate the reading public and also state that all the allegations labeled against Hon. Inibehe Umah are all false and comes from someone who is seeking for undue relevance”.
“Let us state here that, there has never been a time that Hon. Inibehe Umah extorted money from us for the aforementioned purposes. The allegation is laced with lies and malice and as such, remains the figment of his cruel and mischievous imagination.”
“We have never contributed any money in this organization except during the fund raising dinner where UDOM IS RIGHT ORGANIZATION had to demonstrate our belief in His Excellency’s project, where we had to redeem a pledge made by our President at the Divine Mandate Campaign Fund Raising Dinner at Le’meridien Ibom Hotel. This was the only event that caused us to contribute money and by then Mr. Titus was no more with us”
“So the issue of putting it in the media and subjecting people into believing that our National President extorted money from us is a blatant lie and a grand ploy to destroy the organization, which we are fast to tell him that, he has failed woefully”.
Information reaching this newspaper indicates that Mr. Titus John is a man who likes playing a fast one. According to our investigation, this tendency which he exhibited in the course of running the affairs of the organization made him to be sacked, not by the National President as he made people to believe, but by the National Executive Council.
In order to ascertain the authenticity or otherwise of the organization’s communiqué, when the National President of the organization was contacted on phone, he had this to say: “My brother, there has never been a time that I collected any money from anybody either in person or proxy on behalf of UDOM IS RIGHT for any purpose mentioned by the ill-fated publication of the suspended secretary”.
“Without sounding immodest, the said Titus John was the Protem Secretary of this organization until sometime in 2013 when it was discovered that he was playing a double standard and the National Executive Council decided to suspend him.
To be precise, he held sway as the Protem Secretary between December, 2013 to April 2014 when it was realized that he indulged in ANTI-UDOM IS RIGHT ACTIVITIES which nearly subjected us to some ordeals. Like most young people in the State, he was not sure that Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Project will see the light of the day considering the tension and the media hype propagated by the grievous opposition elements which almost threw the State into confusion. This made him to become fitter and unstable to the point of leaving our strategies to our opponents.
Typical example of his act of betrayal was that, in one certain occasion, we had agreed to participate fully in a youth summit structured on the day some of the Governorship aspirants- then, were to be hosted at Asan Ibibio in order to choose a consensus candidate for the 2015 Governorship bid. We had instructed ourselves that all our members should participate in that youth summit at Ibom Hall. But Titus in his usual crafty manner of playing double standard or playing a fast one told us on phone that he is not feeling well and as such, wouldn’t be able to attend the summit. It was at the peak of the event at Asan Ibibio that we were informed that he played a part on the occasion at Asan Ibibio, and that his excuses of ill health was a ploy to enable him put up an appearance at the event.
This caused his suspension by the National Executive Council who also opened a window for him to defend himself. Instead of him to do the needful, he chickened out from the defence from then till now.
His recent publication is a way of playing a victim and also raising false alarm. My question is, if one platform does not accept you for obvious reasons, can’t you go and form or create something else for yourself, rather than raising this false alarm which I know won’t help you?
He also talked about how some of UDOM IS RIGHT members loosed their jobs because of identifying with the organization. I may not really understand what he means here, but I can remember that he was once a ticket seller in Nung Udoe market who could not make remittances on the statutory percentage of fees due to the Local Government Council, that engaged him and he was subsequently sacked, I wish to ask, is it proper for him to place his frustration on the doorstep of Udom is Right organization?
When we decided to change our dress code from T-shirts to Branded Shirts, a committee headed by one of us, Obonganwan Glory Esurua brought a fashion designer to our meeting at Pinacle Hotels. The designer eventually dealt with individual members directly and by then he was no more with us.
Unfortunately what he used to discuss with market women at where he used to work, that he was the one who formed the organization was not reflected in his publication. And these are signs of a coward who claims ab initio that he owns a greater stake of the organization.
Now, I want to ask him where he was when I brought up the idea of UDOM IS RIGHT IN TRANSFORMATION INITIATIVE and later went ahead to EMJMM to design the template?
On the issue of rice that was given to our organization by our principal, we were given thirty bags of rice last December and it is on record that we shared it to our members without any complain and rumours as experienced in other groups.
I saw him listing some names in the Guide Newspaper as chapter coordinators of the organization. Those names are ghost names as the only person who can be contacted for authentic names of chapter coordinators is the Director of media/publicity of this organization, Comrade Itorobong Umoh from Ibesikpo Asutan where he hails from. For the avoidance of doubt, other coordinators are:
Amb. Charles Udoiyok – Eastern Obolo
Comr. Prince Ime Obong – Uyo
Obonanwan Glory Esurua- Ikot Ekpene
Engr. Sampson Ekpo – Nsit Atai
Comr. Jacob bassey – Ini
Comr. Emmanuel umoh – Obot Akara
Comr. Sunday Demas – Ukanafun
Comr. Victor Monday Eseyie Nsit Ibom
Comr. Victor Okopedi – Ibiono
Comr. Asuquo Eyo – Oron
Engr. Ubong Idemudo – Ikot Abasi and others space won’t permit to mention.
Integrity is like a candle wax, if you burn and exhaust yours, it is fools-hardy to attempt lighting another’s own. Some of us young men are very mindful of what we do. This however informs why some of us are always very careful when we deal with the public.
If Titus could recall, he will remember that when we started the organization, he brought the idea of selling membership forms. He persuaded and canvassed for this. But because I envisaged a thing like this, especially when it involves this one-one kobo like the one on hand, I declined yielding to his pressure of commercializing our membership process.
“Governor Udom Emmanuel promised to properly include us in his government, and that, he has started to actualize and still ongoing. In this case, Titus, insinuations cannot divide us. Also, his allegations cannot create any bad blood among us. But let me seize this opportunity to let him know that he is not a member of UDOM IS RIGHT ORGANIZATION, and as such, he lacks the right/capacity to comment on issues relating to the conduct of the organization”.
