Widow Gets Automatic Employment From Gov Udom
The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has wiped the tears off the family of late police officer, Supol. Friday Etuk, by automatically employing the widow of the deceased, Mrs Gbibari Friday, to enable her cater for the welfare of the seven children of the family.
Governor Emmanuel announced this during a condolence visit to the family of the deceased at Ikot Idaha in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of the State.
He described as shocking the demise of the hardworking cop who, until his demise, was the Divisional Police Officer in Onna Local Government Divisional Police Station.
Governor Emmanuel said he was deeply touched by the plight of the young children for loosing the comfort of their father and directed the Head of Civil Service, Mrs Ekerebong Akpan, to enrol the widow in the State Civil Service immediately after the funeral.
The Governor charged members of the deceased family to extend their warmth to the children to alleviate the agony of the loss of their breadwinner and prayed God to grant them fortitude to bear the loss.
A cousin of the deceased, Dr Sylvanus Isonguyo, who spoke on behalf of the family, thanked the Governor for the gesture and prayed God to bless him and sustain his tenure.
The State Chief Executive was accompanied on the condolence visit by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Murtala Mani, Secretary to the State Government, Sir Ettekamba Umoren, Head of Civil Service, Mrs Ekereobong Akpan and other members of the state Executive Council.
The remains of the late Supol. Friday Etuk will be laid to rest at his country home, Ibiono Ewuro in Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
