AKS Thanksgiving: Celebrating Victory Of Light Over Darkness
The Akwa Ibom State Government, organised a Special Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service to appreciate God over the Supreme Court verdict, which affirmed the election of the state Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, Wednesday, 3 February, 2016.
The event, tagged: “Who Am I, O Lord God (2 Samuel 7:18), took place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
The Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, otherwise known as Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, in his message, described the occasion as a celebrating of victory of light over darkness.
He pointed out that the reason people don’t receive more blessings is because they fail to offer timely thanksgiving. “If we don’t offer timely thanksgiving, the blessings are reversed. You get a job but promotion is not forthcoming. We start business and it’s not moving because we have not given God thanks and praises. If there’s anything not moving your life, check it, it is because you’ve not offered timely thanksgiving.”
Highlighting three important blessings that come through thanksgiving as preservation, multiplication and secured promotion, Bishop Oyedepo said when we give thanks, we preserve our healing. “When you are delivered, you have to give thanks for your delivery. When you are lifted, you have to give thanks. Anything you give thanks for is preserved.
“We give thanks for our multiplication of God’s blessings. Nothing ever gets finished when you offer a thanksgiving. Every thanksgiving experiences Divine multiplication because multiplication answers to thanksgiving. Thanksgiving provokes multiplication of God’s blessings.
“We secure promotion through thanksgiving. The Bible says ‘exalt me in praise and you have permitted me to promote you’. When we praise God in our lives, He lifts us to the next level.”
Bishop Oyedepo thanked God for the Government of Akwa Ibom State for putting timely thanksgiving to acknowledge God’s faithfulness, goodness and intervention in the Supreme Court judgement over the opposition party of the state.
Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, in his goodwill message delivered on behalf of other states governors, confirmed that it is a celebration of light over darkness in the state and Nigeria as a whole, saying that “the power of the people is greater than those of us in power.
“If we put our past behind us, stay together and put our house together, we will take back our inheritance that had been taken by deception, propaganda, and hidden agenda, but this is an open agenda.
Congratulating Governor Udom Emmanuel, Governor Fayose described him as a young dynamic and energetic governor, who doesn’t need anyone to tell him that he is loved.
