AKSG Flags Off Construction Of Obio Etoi-Atan Offot-Aka Road
The government of Akwa Ibom State, Friday flagged off the construction of the Obio Etoi-Atan Offot-Aka road.
Performing the flag off ceremony, the Commissioner for works, Akwa Ibom State, Mr Ephraim Akparawa Inyang, said the construction was in line with Governor Udom Emmanuel’s passion to expand critical infrastructure in the state.
He said the flag off was timely as the government was striving to take advantage of the dry season to embark on a couple of roads.
Inyang assured that the road construction will take three to four months to complete and charged the contractors to deliver and on time.
Responding on behalf of the host communities, the village head of Aka Offot, Eteidung Francis Morgan expressed joy and appreciation to the government of Mr Udom Emmanuel for the kind intervention.
He praised the efforts of the commissioner for lands and housing, Hon Enobong Uwah, a son of the soil, whom he said has represented Uyo well.
He prayed the contractors to deliver a quality road that will stand the test of time.
A representative of the construction firm, NigTurks Civil Technology Ltd, Engr Eric Jahsowa promised to deliver the road in record time and pledge to partner with the local community in delivering the job.
