More Knocks On Ita Enang Over N.920bn Fraud
More criticisms have continued to trail the embezzlement of N.920 billion, an amount awarded to Special Assistant on National Assembly, Senator Ita Solomon Enang to build a dam for his people in Uyo Senatorial District, during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Investigations revealed that the job done so far on the dam site at ididep, Ibiono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, cannot be valued beyond N50 million as the area has been taken over by weeds. This has led to prominent Akwa Ibom citizens calling on President Muhammadu Buhari, in his war against corruption, to dock corrupt politicians like Mr. Ita Enang, except the war against corruption is fake and is only against the People Democratic Party (PDP) members.
The Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Research and Documentation, Mr. Emmanuel Nicholas Okokon, said President Buhari cannot claim to be fighting corruption when he surrounds himself with corrupt individuals like Senator Ita Solomon Enang. “If people could be invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over N100 million arms deal, why is Mr Ita Enang strutting around free?
“You said your Government has zero tolerance for corrupt officials, but still dancing with a known thief like Ita Solomon Enang as your personal aide. You cannot pour old wine into a new wine skin. How can several billions of naira go just like that without even a question? Or is the fight against corruption a one sided battle?
“Your acceptance of a thief like Ita Solomon Enang calls for many questions. We have lost faith (for those who had it at all in the first place) in the one sided system. The fight against corruption is a huge joke. The best man the President can appoint to be a go-between him and the senate is Ita Enang. A man who does not have respect for the law nor constituted authority?”
Mr. Nicholas further urged President Buhari not to allow the people to doubt his corruption war. “How will you keep a thief as your gate keeper and want Nigerians to believe your change campaign? I don’t want to believe what Nigerians are saying, that your corruption war is a vindictive move not really a war against corruption. For making people Like Senator Ita Enang part of your Government, then the people are correct.”
If Ita Enang’s corrupt disposition can be tolerated, his lose tongue is annoying as he comes to Akwa Ibom State every week and insult Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Senator Ita Enang was earlier quoted to have described Akwa Ibom youths as cultists when he accused Governor Udom Emmanuel of recruiting cultists for the upcoming re-run election in the state and went ahead to say that the governor is using his several programmes targeted at youth development to recruit youths into cult groups.
He has gone beyond politics and over-stepped his bounds this time as he has been called to apologise to Akwa Ibom youths.
Ita Enang, over his 16 years sojourn in the National Assembly, is known to have a very poor record of human capital development. He is a deeply selfish man, very tight fisted and a miser.
He is obviously jealous about what Udom Emmanuel is doing in Akwa Ibom State, trying to give the youths more capacity to launch themselves into global reckoning, particularly stating that the oracle training is used as a bait for recruiting cultist. How silly of him!
